A Honeymoon Before the Honeymoon

There is nothing like laying on white beaches and swimming in warm waters after a whirlwind wedding weekend! My husband and I were set to go on a 12 day Mediterranean cruise on the Emerald Princess three months after our wedding… however we decided it would be much needed to escape for a few days right after our nuptials! We spent our honeymoon “Part I” and my husband’s birthday at our favorite Aloha spot, The Grand Wailea Resort in Maui….and it was the perfect backdrop to celebrate our marital bliss. I highly recommend if you are planning a long cruise or adventure type honeymoon and it does not begin until a few months after your wedding, take a few days somewhere to relax and reflect on your new marriage. Whether it’s a weekend to the Santa Barbara wineries, or a romantic drive and 2 nights in Carmel or Monterey, or if you can get away to Maui or somewhere tropical…go for it!! It was just what we needed to take a breath and spend some quality alone time before we got back into the daily grind and before our big trip to Europe! We could have used another Maui trip after the cruise but that is a whole other story!
